Choose a preview that respects intent
Muted animated previews can communicate the video before a viewer presses play, but they also consume bandwidth. Choose the trigger deliberately and verify that the static poster remains useful when reduced-data conditions suppress preview work.
Match preload behavior to the page
The player offers metadata-only, intent-based, and aggressive preload strategies. Intent-based is the general default. Reduced-data, slow-network, and low-memory constraints can override speculative work for the viewer’s benefit.
