Video library

How workspaces, collections, videos, assets, and tags fit together.

Reviewed August 17, 2026

What is the difference between a workspace and a collection?

A workspace is the private working boundary. Collections organize related videos inside it. A video belongs to one workspace and one collection, while its assets inherit that relationship through the video.

What are video tags for?

Tags provide reusable workspace-wide labels for topics, formats, campaigns, stages, or other library conventions. A tag can be assigned to many videos inside the same workspace.

Can I move a tag or video between workspaces?

No. Workspace ownership is a firm boundary. Tags and videos cannot be connected across workspaces.

What happens when I delete a video or collection?

Deletion is permanent in the current product. SuperDuper Videos uses hard deletion rather than an archive or trash workflow, and owned child records are removed where the data relationship requires it. Confirm the target before deleting it.

Where do posters and previews live?

Generated or copied visual assets remain attached to the video as video assets. Private custom-upload originals are stored separately from public playback derivatives.

Can I keep YouTube and uploaded videos in the same collection?

Yes. They use different source and playback paths, but both can be organized within the same workspace and collection.
